AMVETS:
The Maine National Guard has 3 items of interest for January 2012
1. On 16 December 2011 CSM Terry Harris of the MeARNG traveled to Montenegro to observe and participate in the conduct of first primary NCO Academy in that country. As many of you know the old Soviet Union and its satellites did not train NCOs at leadership schools, only their technical trades. This is the first time Maine soldiers have participated in NCO training in that country, however we have had soldiers there as war fighters and peacekeepers.
2. On 20 December 2011 CSM Gregg Small (Ret), who is the executive director for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (EGR) presented the prestigious Seven Seals Award to Northern Maine Community College (NMCC). Receiving the award for NMCC was its president Timothy Crowley. The award was presented to NMCC for their continous support of the Maine Army National Guard's soldiers who are constantly being deployed and the wonderful community support that they furnish to these soldiers, their families, beforeduring and after their deployments,
3.Still scheduled as of 29 December 2011: "C" Company /126th Aviation, Maine Army National Guard ( former 112thMedical Co,)has been alerted and will have an advance party at their future deployment site this fall. Mobilization will likely take place in the 1st quarter of 2012. This will be their 5th mobilization and their 3rd since 9-11
